He was 60 feet tall, and dumb looking, but everyone loved him anyway. He actually said a big "HOWDY" every 20 seconds or so at the entrance to the State Fair of Texas. But about 20 minutes ago Big Tex caught fire.

I shall immediately disconnect my right leg from my electricity supply, for fear of suffering Big Tex's fate.
Last night I watched a TV programme about 'global weirding' which included a piece on the terrible drought in Texas. This morning I logged into my blog for the first time in months and there's a post about Texas burning! Cue spooky music.....
