FOUND AT 'NITA'S TEMPORARY BLOG...check out her craft stuff as well. She's a pro.
there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I'm too clever, I only let him out
at night sometimes
when everybody's asleep.
I say, I know that you're there,
so don't be
sad.
then I put him back,
but he's singing a little
in there, I haven't quite let him
die
and we sleep together like
that
with our
secret pact
charles bukowski...
who else could it be?

I didn't know Bukowski wrote poetry. And I wouldn't have thought he had it in him. But he has. That's a fine and comforting thought.
Wikipedia says I'm an idiot. He is Most Of All a poet. I just read Post-Office, and nothing else. Great book though! And even though I find English poetry incredibly hard to read, I must try to find his poems. I am very curious now.
Hey Steve, thanks for the link and the compliment! I found a great site called Moving Poems this week that features animated poetry. I think you will like it:

I like Charles Bukowski, though I think it would have been considerate of him to have a name I could pronounce and spell.
The Red Dirt Girl was not at all keen, bu I think she's scowling at him a bit less these days....
(I write this knowing that it's six in the morning in her world, so I should be safe from immediate reprisals)
I posted another Bukowski a while back. I love this one called Catfish Friend. Absolutly love it.

Scowl ...... seditious lies, all of them! Seriously, this one made me feel sad. Bukowski isn't bad. I think of him as a guys' poet. Just like how Marge Piercy is a girls' poet. Betcha Soubry didn't confess to not liking Marge, did he !!
