CAPTAIN HOOK USED TO SAY...

'You can lead a horse to water, but you can't look him in the mouth"

"What a man won't do, won't get done."

...and my favorite...

'If you think you are not part of the problem,
you are part of the problem."

Cap'n Hook (thats what I called him away from the kitchen) was one of the best Chefs I ever worked with; a good Mentor and Fisherman. Over the course of two years I watched him go from an "Iron Fisted Tyrant" to being one of the most tactful managers and polite Gentlemen I have ever known.

He was there the day I sank the boat.

One of my favorite quotes from a mentor brings comes to mind at the mention of Cap'n Hook:
"If you're ever down and out and need a helping hand, just look at the end of your arm."
Quack, Quack!

My last boss before I joined the Army was 5/32 Sioux Indian, half-German, and the rest Mexican. He married a beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed Norwegian. Their two sons eat lutefisk tacos and scalp Jews. He always said to "give the customers what they need, not what they ask for." He had a sign that said "Excellent quality, fast service, low cost... Pick any two!" I was the first guy he ever hired and the first guy he ever fired. I thanked him both times.

Are you planning to tell us how the boat went down? Could it be any worse than when I almost burned down the chemistry lab in my HS and in the process wounded the teacher?
