It's a mighty leap from Levon Helm to David Korech for me, but I like it (the leap I mean... and Levon of course). Hey, Steve.

I was looking for something to watch on the ol' idiot box tonight. I expected there might be some sort of retrospective programming, looking back on the Branch Davidians or the OKC Bombing two years later...maybe even the Columbine story. Nothing. (I do see something called Swamp People on the History Channel...) I found the same to be true last September 11th. At least I have NetFlix.

Funny that - Soub and I had a discussion about Waco and the Branch Davidians last week ....! Had no idea it was an anniversary.

I remember it well... the Davidians and their complex being raided & burned. It was one of the first times in my life that I saw that America wasn't just the land of Alias Smith & Jones, Dukes of Hazzard, Carl Lewis and Elvis Presley. No... there's something sinister going on! That was the message it gave. High School Shootings, militias, weird legislation and voting for a ----- for President (twice) further added to my confusion. I never had the desire to see America for myself, but the last couple of months, I have changed in this. There must be a method to the madness, and I want to see what it is.
