TRUE CONFESSIONS

LD Bell won first Place at Super Regionals (5 state Area) and received commendation for outstanding Visual Effect.
I have seen 28 routines and get to go back to San Antonio for UIL State competition on Tuesday...I have Marching Band coming out of my ears... my dishmachine was playing the "Grand Boogie March" this morning.
(to be contiued) 11/5
Ten years ago my ex-wife and I went to Counseling and after a few sessions that poor Doctor told us that we should have been in a few years ago. We were DOA.
As the doctor handed me my hat she says;
"Steve, would you consider life to be a journey or a destination?"
Back then, for me, it was so much a destination that I did'nt even understand the question.
I understand it very well now.
Every kid that took part in a Band program this year won. It just may be that the lessons learned and values obtained will produce the greatest fruit in those who had to go home early.
The vine that feels the blade, bears the fruit.
Its not the medal, its the mettle.
The doing is the thing.
Of course there is nothing wrong with being SUPER REGIONAL CHAMPIONS !!!

MY DAUGHTER IS WORKING ON A POST THAT WILL DESCRIBE THE VERY HEARTFELT RESPECT SHE AND HER MATES HAVE FOR THEIR BIGGEST RIVAL....
THEY ARE SISTERS IN ARMS AND BLOOD BROTHERS AND VERY GOOD TRAVELLERS.
THIS MUTUAL RESPECT IS WHAT SHE VALUES MOST FROM HER JOURNEY.
NEED I SAY MORE?

Not only will they 'march' right out of your ears, but probably straight into your dreams!

Congrats!

BTW - I'm ready for a menu challenge, cowboy. Bring it on! I've stored up a bunch of shoes for ammo.....High noon, buddy! LOL

ps - glad to see a man open to revising his opinion, especially when it comes to shoes.....! I'm still tasting gingered marmalade...:)

mOI- I left out one of my favorites for Canadian musicians... Bruce Cockburn, another artist's Artist...I even started a post with a line from him...see 'these things will happen in time".
Now that I think about it, the other excerpt at the top of that post was Canadian as well... Leonard Cohen...
I am all about Canada!

Sounds like you have learned a ton since your counseling days and can apply it to different people's situations. Looking forward to your daughter's post! We've heard (and seen) so much about her!

Bruce is the best! I just saw him 2 weeks ago. He grew up in Ottawa and his dad and mine belonged to the same fishing camp, the cabins I posted about I go to for my holidays. His grandfather and mine were best friends and started the club together. Darn! Why couldn't I have met him up there?!! HA! HA!

Yeah, this all makes you part Canadian!
