My big task today has been to drive to the Chrysler dealer and get a lug nut for the company van. They had one laying around for free.
It didn't fit.
So tomorrow, my boss explained to me, tomorrow I will go to Pep Boys Auto Supply and buy a new lug nut, even though we don't really need one.
This is a grim reminder of what a chickenshit little job I have here.
I get home and I'm just almost brain dead.

A lug nut is a fastener, specifically a nut, used to secure a wheel on a vehicle. Typically, lug nuts are found on automobiles, trucks (lorries), and other large vehicles utilizing rubber tires.
Don't you just love Wikipedia's clear as a Rocky Mountain lake water language? I do.
But hey, your job as get lug nut guy doesn't sound all that bad to me. I've done worse... way worse. Hey Steve!
Hey cowboy! I feel your brain drain, I really do. We get mystery shopped at work once a month. Our scores and remarks get posted on a back wall at work. Management blacks out our names and details if we made below a 90%. I made a 68 last month on a return.
Everyone gossips and tries to figure out who made what ... I just go right up to the group and confess. Management fills out a 'report' on us regarding the poor mystery shop and reviews it with us. We have to sign it and then it goes into our permanent file to be reviewed again at our annual review.
I will be making a U for unsatisfactory this year because of my 68. That probably means instead of getting a 23 cent raise, I'll only get an 18 cent raise.
Talk about little jobs ...!

Yes Martijn, and there are five on each wheel. As I explained to my boss yesterday, I don't think I've ever owned a car that had all its lug nuts.
Hi Red! what are they going to do with your nickle? Thats what I want to know.
My nickle?? Surely you mean my pound of flesh ....!
