Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere, i've looked at clouds that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I would have done but clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moons and Junes and Ferris Wheels, the dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real; I've looked at love that way.
But now it's just another show. You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know, don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now,
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall.
I really don't know love at all.

Tears and fears and feeling proud to say "I love you" right out loud,
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way.
But now old friends are acting strange, they shake their heads, they sayI've changed.
Something's lost but something's gained in living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose, and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall.
I really don't know life at all.

Water Baby
Since she was just a little girl, she made me think of this song, especially the first verse and clouds. Now she has turned 18 and for my 100th post I want her to know of all the pains, and all the joys and all foolish wisdom associated with the last two verses.
Don't give yourself away.

I love this song sung by just about anyone. 18 sounds so young. She has her whole life ahead of her. Exciting and scary at the same time.

Joni! My Canadian heroine!

Water Baby: I hope there aren't too many clouds in your way _ and you WILL find your way, even though you may not think so at certain times. You are entering another leg of this Journey called, "Life". Hang on! It's a bit of a ride sometimes! You'll Live and Learn.

Happy B-Day!

The song is going through my mind (Hmmm...I wonder if you could find it and blog it?) and it's one I've always loved for its whimsical, but still clear, take on the world!

This is for Water Baby? Good choice!

oh lord, I just knew she was a Pisces. now, tell her, as I told her, to stay away from musicians. alas, it's futile...

happy birthday, Water Baby.
